Fans of NCIS’s #KnightInShiningPalmer romance should brace themselves for some turbulence in the upcoming episodes of Season 21, as “detours and bumps” are on the way for the beloved workplace couple.
During the celebration of NCIS’ 1,000th episode, TVLine caught up with stars Katrina Law and Brian Dietzen to discuss what lies ahead for their characters, Jessica Knight and Jimmy Palmer. In the March 25 episode, viewers will be introduced to Jessica’s father, played by Russell Wong, who also portrayed Law’s dad in The Oath.
Law described the forthcoming storyline as “very exciting,” noting that her father is a key figure in the NCIS universe. His arrival in D.C. on a mission sets the stage for a father-daughter team-up, and according to Law, “he kind of kicks ass a little!”
However, the introduction of Jessica’s father to Jimmy doesn’t go as smoothly as hoped. Dietzen revealed that the meeting is “not exactly the best” for Jimmy. Additionally, Jessica’s father senses some underlying tension between the couple, leading Jessica to open up about some truths.
The episode is expected to be both “heartwarming” and “nerve-wracking,” Law teased. As for the future of Jess and Jimmy’s relationship, Dietzen hinted at possible challenges, warning that love can face “detours and bumps along the way.”
