In a recent interview with TVLine, Katrina Law provided a fascinating peek behind the scenes of the NCIS Season 21 finale, where her character, Special Agent Jessica Knight, embarked on a daring underwater rescue mission to save Alden Parker, played by Gary Cole.
Law delved into the meticulous preparations for the underwater sequences, revealing the presence of a “contact technician” to ensure her eyes remained protected during filming underwater. Despite the inherent challenges, Law found herself submerged in a specialized swim tank, surrounded by a tightly packed crew.
Contrary to the icy waters her character faced, Law disclosed that the water temperature was kept at a balmy 85 degrees, akin to bathwater. However, any comfort was short-lived as Law still had to endure two more scenes on the cold, damp set, leaving her “soaking wet.”
Despite the chilling conditions, Law emphasized the warmth and camaraderie on set, particularly highlighting her co-star Brian Dietzen, who portrays Dr. Jimmy Palmer. Dietzen went out of his way to ensure Law’s comfort, allowing her to stand on his shoes between takes to shield her from the cold floor.
