NCIS Star Drops Bombshell Tease: Season 21 Finale Is ‘Intense’!

Brian Dietzen, renowned for his portrayal of chief medical examiner Dr. Jimmy Palmer on NCIS, has teased an electrifying season 21 finale. Following the landmark celebration of the franchise’s 1,000th episode, the original series is poised to wrap up its current season on CBS on Monday, May 6.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight during CBS’s fall schedule celebration, Dietzen hinted that the upcoming finale would explore storylines not delved into for quite some time. He described the episode as “intense,” underlining the weightiness of the unfolding events, particularly concerning life and death within the narrative.

Joining Dietzen in building anticipation for the finale, co-star Katrina Law, who essays the role of Special Agent Jessica Knight since season 18, suggested significant developments that would shape the characters’ trajectories going forward. She alluded to a theme of introspection pervading the episode, expressing her excitement for its depth and impact on the characters.

Law implied that fundamental shifts would take place, laying the groundwork for what promises to be an intriguing next season. While NCIS has been greenlit for a 22nd season, slated for an autumn release, spin-off series NCIS: Hawai’i faced an unforeseen cancellation after three seasons. The decision, reportedly influenced by moderate viewership figures, leaves fans with the expectation of a cliffhanger and unresolved conflicts in its final episode, airing next week on May 6.

Vanessa Lachey, who essays the role of Special Agent Jane Tennant on NCIS: Hawai’i, expressed her surprise and disappointment at the show’s cancellation via her Instagram Story, indicating feeling blindsided by the news.

In the US, NCIS airs on CBS, while UK viewers can stream seasons 1-20 on Disney+.
