NCIS Drops Bombshell in 1000th Episode Teaser: Long-Lost Characters Resurrected After Years! You Won’t Believe Who’s Back!

In anticipation of the landmark 1000th episode of NCIS airing on April 15, CBS has unveiled a teaser trailer that pays homage to two long-forgotten characters who met their demise early in the series. The teaser hints at a gripping storyline where the NCIS agency finds itself under siege by a mysterious adversary with an encyclopedic knowledge of its history.

Among the glimpses into the past, viewers catch sight of images featuring Caitlin Todd (played by Sasha Alexander), an original character from the pilot episode who met her end in Season 2, and Tom Morrow (portrayed by Alan Dale), the inaugural Director of NCIS who departed in Season 13.

With the milestone episode promising a treasure trove of Easter eggs and callbacks spanning the entire series, speculation runs high about potential surprise appearances from past cast members. While hopes linger for Mark Harmon’s return as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, executive producer Steven D. Binder hints that any comeback for the iconic character must be substantial, not merely a fleeting cameo.

Although Harmon’s Gibbs didn’t surface for the recent Ducky tribute, Michael Weatherly’s cameo as Tony DiNozzo sparked excitement, especially with news of an upcoming spinoff series reuniting him with Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David. As for other fan favorites, such as Pauley Perrette’s Abby Sciuto, CBS Studios President David Stapf assures that while she’s always welcomed back, no plans have materialized yet.

The 1000th episode, titled “A Thousand Yards,” promises a nostalgic journey for fans and airs on Monday, April 15, on CBS.
