Blue Bloods Finale: Tom Selleck & Donnie Wahlberg Reveal Emotional Goodbyes!

During filming of the Blue Bloods finale, Donnie Wahlberg revealed that his co-star Tom Selleck was visibly moved, with tears in his eyes as they shot the emotional scenes. “He’s really tall, standing in the back corner, just watching with tears in his eyes. It was like the waterworks turned on,” Donnie shared on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live. “I could literally cry just thinking about it.”

Wahlberg, who played Detective Danny Reagan, spoke about the close bond he developed with Selleck, who portrayed his father, Commissioner Frank Reagan. He explained, “We don’t just show up and go, ‘Tell me what to do, Tom.’ We have a back-and-forth… He respects what I bring to the table, as I do him.”

Teasing the finale, Donnie promised an emotional send-off, saying, “There’ll be a lot of tears. There’s a very sad scene in the middle of the final episode. It feels like a finale, but a hopeful one.”

As for what he’ll miss most, Tom Selleck said, “The actors. The family of actors is as close as the Reagan family they portray. There isn’t a single one of them who didn’t want to come back. It’s something we can all be proud of.”
