Stephen Amell Claims He Was ‘Blocked’ from NCIS Spin-Off Role!

Stephen Amell recently revealed that he felt “blocked” from landing a role in the upcoming series NCIS: Origins. During an appearance on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, Amell opened up about auditioning for the NCIS prequel the same week he successfully landed a role in the Suits spin-off, Suits: LA.

Amell shared his excitement about the potential of playing a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, noting that his audition went “extraordinarily well” and received positive feedback. However, the next day, he was told the opportunity had slipped away. “It felt like someone, somewhere, had blocked me from it,” he admitted, expressing his frustration at the sudden turn of events.

The role eventually went to Austin Stowell, known for his work in Catch-22. Amell also reflected on the challenges leading up to his Suits: LA audition, recounting a moment of breakdown due to a difficult phone call and the pressures of single parenting.

Despite the tough circumstances, Amell decided to approach the Suits audition with a more relaxed attitude, choosing not to take the process too seriously. Reflecting on his success, he said, “I got the job I was meant to get, and everything works out for a reason.”

NCIS: Origins is set to premiere on October 14 on CBS, while NCIS continues to air, with the first 20 seasons available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
