LL Cool J’s Big Move After NCIS: Hawai’i Cancellation Revealed!

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Season 3 Finale: LL Cool J Bids Farewell as Sam Hanna

The season three finale of NCIS: Hawai’i marked the end of an era, as LL Cool J’s portrayal of Special Agent Sam Hanna came to a close following CBS’s cancellation of the series. LL Cool J, who joined NCIS: Hawai’i as a recurring guest star after NCIS: Los Angeles was canceled last year, has played the beloved character since 2009.

While fans won’t see him in the role anytime soon, LL Cool J has exciting new ventures on the horizon. He’s set to be one of the headliners for the 2024 Citi Concert Series, a star-studded event featuring performances at Rockefeller Plaza this summer. The series kicks off on May 24 with alt-rock band Wallows and wraps up on September 27 with country star Chris Stapleton. Other featured performers include Meghan Trainor, Chance the Rapper, and Bleachers, though LL’s performance date is still to be announced.

The cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i was confirmed in April, despite CBS renewing both NCIS and its Australian spin-off, NCIS: Sydney, for their 22nd and second seasons, respectively. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach explained the decision, emphasizing the need to keep the network’s lineup fresh and evaluate overall performance.

LL Cool J quickly became a fan-favorite on NCIS: Hawai’i. In an exclusive interview with HELLO!, co-stars Jason Antoon and Seana Kofoed shared how excited LL was to join the show after visiting Hawai’i for a crossover event. “LL loves being here,” Jason remarked, highlighting the positive energy he brought to the team. Seana praised his “fun energy” and called him a “talented guy.”

As NCIS: Hawai’i concludes, fans will miss LL Cool J’s presence on the show, but they can look forward to his upcoming musical performances this summer.
