Blue Bloods is coming to an end after 14 seasons, and CBS executive Amy Reisenbach has revealed the key reason behind the decision. Speaking to Deadline, Reisenbach cited financial factors and budget concerns as the driving force. She explained that the network needed to “level set some of the costs at the starting gate,” a strategy that also impacted other long-running CBS shows like Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola, which are also wrapping up in 2024. Despite Blue Bloods’ popularity and its iconic cast, including Tom Selleck, the decision ultimately came down to cost-cutting measures.
