NCIS: LA’ Shocker: Gerald McRaney Promoted to Series Regular for Season 13!

EXCLUSIVE: Gerald McRaney Elevated to Series Regular on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ for Season 13

Gerald McRaney, who has been a recurring cast member on NCIS: Los Angeles since 2014, has been promoted to a series regular for the show’s upcoming 13th season. McRaney, who plays retired Admiral Hollis Kilbride, will continue to offer critical guidance and support to the NCIS Special Projects unit in Los Angeles as they undertake high-stakes undercover missions.

Executive producer R. Scott Gemmill expressed enthusiasm about McRaney’s expanded role, saying, “Having an actor of Gerald McRaney’s caliber on the show is a tremendous asset. Admiral Kilbride has been a valuable part of our universe for seven years, and we are thrilled to showcase him in a more prominent role as he shakes up the NCIS: LA world.”

The series, which delves into the operations of a specialized division targeting high-risk criminals threatening national security, will welcome McRaney’s deeper involvement following the exits of longtime cast members Renée Felice Smith, who played Intelligence agent Nell Jones, and Barrett Foa, who portrayed tech consultant Eric Beale.

The main cast of NCIS: LA includes Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Medalion Rahimi, and Caleb Castille. The show is produced by CBS Studios, with Gemmill, John P. Kousakis, Frank Military, and Kyle Harimoto serving as executive producers.

McRaney, an Emmy winner for his role as Dr. Nathan Katowski on NBC’s This Is Us, is also known for his performances in Deadwood and Simon & Simon. Most recently, he starred as Eugene Monreaux in Fox’s Filthy Rich. He is represented by Artists & Representatives.
