It’s been three years since Emily Wickersham’s character, Ellie Bishop, left NCIS to work as an undercover CIA agent, departing without a proper goodbye and breaking the team’s trust by leaking NSA files. Recently, Wilmer Valderrama’s Torres hinted he’s ready to move on, saying he feels ready to date again—a sign that the show is shifting forward from Bishop entirely. Still, I hold out hope for some form of redemption for her character.
While Wickersham’s departure stemmed from her desire to move on from the role, making a full return unlikely, it would be satisfying to see Ellie at least redeemed in the eyes of the team, even if only through dialogue.
