Blue Bloods star Bridget Moynahan recently shared her thoughts on the “bittersweet” ending of the long-running CBS drama during an appearance on Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd. After 14 seasons portraying Erin Reagan, Moynahan admitted with a smile, “I want my job back!” She expressed deep gratitude for her time on the show, calling it “a good run” and noting the strong bonds she built with her castmates. “Fourteen years with a group of people, we were a family on and off the screen.”
Despite filming wrapping up in June, Moynahan stays close with several co-stars, including Vanessa Ray and Donnie Wahlberg. “We’re still celebrating birthdays and having fun,” she shared. “I miss them on a daily basis.” Moynahan and Wahlberg, who play siblings Erin and Danny Reagan, have especially cherished their off-screen friendship. Wahlberg reminisced on The Drew Barrymore Show about how they first connected while filming a pilot years before Blue Bloods. “When I read Blue Bloods for the first time, I thought, ‘Oh my god, Bridget has to play my sister,’” he recalled.
For Moynahan, saying goodbye to the cast and crew has been the hardest part. “It’s more about saying goodbye to the people behind the characters,” she said. “We’ve built such a family on set over the years — we’ve been through weddings, births, losses, everything together.”
Though Blue Bloods is winding down with its final episodes on CBS, there’s still buzz about a potential spin-off. Abigail Hawk, who plays Detective Abigail Baker, hinted at discussions about a new series but said it likely wouldn’t involve the Reagan family or the NYPD. “If it happens right after our show ends, it would probably have to be set somewhere like LA or follow a different family entirely,” she told HELLO!
