“The Trouble with Hal” is all about surprises. From a squatting situation that escalates into a murder investigation involving a clever antiques collector, to Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) and Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) navigating the complexities of their evolving friendship, the team faces constant curveballs.
The most significant challenge has been the death of Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum). His passing left a huge void and a legacy that the team has preserved by keeping his office at MCRT exactly as it was. Now, months later, it’s time to repurpose the space. Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) wants a gym, Palmer envisions a communal work area but can’t bear to part with Ducky’s old files, Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover) desires a meditation room, and Alden Parker (Gary Cole) just wants a quiet place to eat.
In the end, they reach a heartfelt compromise: the Dr. Donald Mallard Memorial Multi-Purpose Room, a fitting tribute that honors Ducky while serving the team’s needs.
