CBS Seeks Fan Help as Blue Bloods Season 14 Delay Hits!

Time for a Blast to the Blue Bloods Past!

As the fall TV schedule unfolds in 2023, many fans are left longing for their favorite scripted shows, including Blue Bloods. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes over the summer halted production on numerous series, including the Tom Selleck-led drama, which has been renewed for Season 14. While fans await fresh episodes featuring the beloved Reagan family, CBS is offering a nostalgic alternative: reruns of classic episodes from the first thirteen seasons!

Instead of new episodes this fall, Blue Bloods will air fan-favorite episodes every Friday at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. However, the network isn’t just picking these episodes randomly; they want the fans to have a say in the selection! From August 31 to September 8, viewers were invited to vote for their favorite episodes from a curated list of options. Out of the 275 episodes that have aired since the show premiered in 2010, CBS has narrowed it down to ten fan-favorite choices.

Here are the ten episodes up for voting:

  1. Season 1, Episode 22: “The Blue Templar”
  2. Season 4, Episode 3: “To Protect and to Serve”
  3. Season 5, Episode 22: “The Art of War”
  4. Season 8, Episode 22: “My Aim is True”
  5. Season 9, Episode 22: “Something Blue”
  6. Season 10, Episode 14: “The Fog of War”
  7. Season 10, Episode 19: “Family Secrets”
  8. Season 11, Episode 12: “Happy Endings”
  9. Season 11, Episode 16: “Justifies the Means”
  10. Season 12, Episode 6: “Be Smart or Be Dead”

While it’s great to see classic episodes get the spotlight, it’s surprising that CBS didn’t include any episodes from Season 13 to keep recent storylines fresh in viewers’ minds, especially given the buzz surrounding the Magnum P.I. reunion episode. Still, narrowing 275 episodes down to just ten is no easy feat! For those eager to catch up, Season 13 is available for streaming on Paramount+.

CBS chose these episodes based on criteria like memorable character arcs, the introduction of key characters, and standout guest stars. This initiative follows recent rumors regarding Tom Selleck’s well-being on set, which have been debunked by his representatives. Despite budget cuts needed for the renewal, Blue Bloods remains a cherished series, having avoided the drastic changes faced by some other shows.

If you want to cast your vote for the Blue Bloods classic episodes to be aired this fall, you can do so on the show’s Facebook page. Alternatively, fans can create their own curated list and stream episodes via Paramount+, though it won’t come with the same fan participation element. As we gear up for the countdown of these classic episodes, we can’t help but reminisce about the moments that have made Blue Bloods such a beloved series over the years!
