After 14 seasons, CBS made the shocking decision to cancel Blue Bloods, leaving fans heartbroken and sparking a passionate fan-led campaign for its return, which has yet to see much success. Despite the cancellation, the show consistently delivered strong viewing figures, giving fans hope for its revival. While CBS has confirmed the series’ end, Abigail Hawk, who portrays Detective Abigail Baker, remains optimistic about the possibility of more Reagan family stories in the future.
Although the show’s sets have been dismantled, Hawk recently expressed to Daily Express that there’s still a glimmer of hope. She stated, “I mean, yes the set is gone, but with the professionals we have in our industry, it would take two seconds to rebuild a set like that if it came to that. So there’s still a little teeny bit of a silver needle somewhere in the hope haystack, and I’ll hang on to it.”
In a separate interview with Starry Constellation Magazine, Hawk elaborated on the desire among the cast and crew to continue the series if given the opportunity. She mentioned, “If you have the entire cast and crew totally ready and willing to continue, I think it’s possible that the conversation may happen.” While she acknowledged that a second chance for the show is not guaranteed, she added, “Hope floats, and I think it’s necessary to have something to hang on to.”
However, Hawk is less optimistic about the prospect of the show moving to another network. In a conversation with Hello, she clarified, “I don’t think there’s a possibility of it going to another network—I know that there’s been a bit of chatter about that, but I don’t think that’s a viable option given the talks that we’ve had with the cast and the producers and things like that.”
For now, CBS appears resolute in its decision to end Blue Bloods, but Hawk’s comments offer fans a glimmer of hope that the network might reconsider or explore a revival in the future.
Stay tuned to Collider for further updates as we all keep our fingers crossed for a second chance for Blue Bloods. In the meantime, you can watch the entire series from the start on Paramount+ now.
