NCIS fans have reason to celebrate as Michael Weatherly has teased an exciting update about his upcoming spin-off series with Cote de Pablo.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the iconic duo, known for their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, would reunite for a 10-episode spin-off set in Europe. Now, Weatherly has shared that filming is set to begin in Budapest later this year.
The untitled series will follow Tony and Ziva as they face the challenges of raising their tween daughter, Tali, while simultaneously saving the world. Weatherly humorously hinted, “What could go wrong?”
According to the official synopsis, the family is forced to go on the run across Europe after an attack on Tony’s security firm. As they try to rebuild trust and carve out their version of a happily-ever-after, they must also uncover the truth behind the deadly attack.
In addition to starring in the series, both Weatherly and de Pablo will serve as executive producers, alongside Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, and Shelley Meals. The show will be led by John McNamara, who has taken on the role of showrunner.
Weatherly and de Pablo expressed their excitement, stating, “We’ve been discussing this story for years, and now with John McNamara on board, we’re ready.” They promised an action-packed adventure filled with love, danger, tears, and laughter, all within the world of Tony, Ziva, and their daughter.
McNamara also shared his excitement about filming in Europe and hinted at the secretive nature of the series’ title, adding to the growing anticipation.
