Treat Williams, Hair & Blue Bloods Star, Dies in Tragic Motorbike Accident at 71!

Treat Williams, the celebrated Hollywood actor, has tragically passed away at the age of 71 following a motorbike accident.

On Monday evening, Williams was riding his motorcycle in Dorset, Vermont, when a Honda SUV turned left into a parking lot and collided with him. According to a Vermont State Police spokesperson, “Williams was unable to avoid the collision and was thrown from his motorcycle. He suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was pronounced dead.”

The SUV driver, who had signaled before making the turn, sustained minor injuries and was not hospitalized. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Treat Williams, whose full name was Richard Treat Williams, gained prominence in the 1970s with roles in the movie musical Hair and Steven Spielberg’s 1941. Over his extensive career, he amassed more than 120 on-screen credits, including notable films like Once Upon a Time in America and 127 Hours, as well as memorable TV roles in Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire, Everwood, and Chesapeake Shores.

In 1984, Williams received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in a TV adaptation of A Streetcar Named Desire. His agent, Barry McPherson, expressed profound sadness, stating, “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented. He was an actor’s actor. Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of Hollywood since the late 1970s.”

Treat Williams is survived by his wife, Pam Van Sant, and their two children, Gille and Ellie.
