NCIS Stars Reunite and Hint at Exciting New Ventures
Fans of NCIS are in for a treat as Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, and Sean Murray recently came together for an episode of the NCIS rewatch podcast, where they not only reminisced about the past but also dropped hints about exciting upcoming projects within the franchise.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the three of us were in the same room,” de Pablo remarked. “Sitting down and catching up like this feels surreal.”
Murray chimed in, “I didn’t realize it had been that long, but being here with you two just feels right.”
Although this marks their first group reunion in a decade, the NCIS alums have crossed paths individually on the show. Murray, who remains a series regular, had a memorable on-screen reunion with de Pablo in Season 17, where their characters resolved lingering issues. Weatherly made a poignant return last season for a tribute episode honoring the late David McCallum, who passed away in September of last year.
In exciting news for fans, Weatherly and de Pablo will soon be reuniting on-screen in an upcoming spinoff series slated for release at the end of the year. The new show will follow their beloved characters, Tony and Ziva, as they embark on a thrilling journey across Europe to evade a dangerous international threat, all while exploring how they’ve evolved over the past decade.
“We’ve been through so much together, both on and off the screen,” de Pablo said. “Now, our characters are bringing that shared history into a new adventure. It’s an exciting evolution for them and for us.”
Weatherly echoed her enthusiasm, saying, “The chemistry between us is going to be different this time, and I can’t wait to dive into that. Working with Cote again is something I’ve been looking forward to.”
Murray also teased a possible appearance in the spinoff. “You never know with this franchise. We love to keep things in the family, and I wouldn’t rule anything out.”
Adding to the excitement, Weatherly and de Pablo also revealed plans for a new podcast called “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch,” set to launch on Spotify on June 4. The weekly episodes will feature the duo rewatching episodes, sharing behind-the-scenes stories, and bringing on special guests, including current and former NCIS stars like Sean Murray, Sasha Alexander, Eric Christian Olsen, and Jon Cryer. Weatherly announced the podcast on Instagram with a teaser that’s already got fans buzzing.
