Steve Schirripa Says Anthony Is Erin’s Big Brother on ‘Blue Bloods’!

Steve Schirripa is widely recognized for his iconic role as Bobby ‘Bacala’ Baccalieri, the brother-in-law and fellow gangster of Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) on HBO’s The Sopranos. However, Schirripa’s impressive career extends beyond this role, including notable performances on two other long-running series.

From 2008 to 2013, Schirripa was a familiar face on The Secret Life of the American Teenager. He later joined the cast of Blue Bloods as Anthony Abetemarco, a retired NYPD detective turned investigator for the district attorney’s office. In his role, Schirripa frequently collaborates with Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan), highlighting his significant presence in the series.

Schirripa is among several Sopranos alumni to have appeared on Blue Bloods, including Michael Imperioli, Lorraine Bracco, and John Ventimiglia. Despite the extensive cast, with many characters bearing the Reagan surname, Schirripa has made a notable impact on the show. He has even described his character, Anthony, as a big brother figure to Erin Reagan, reflecting the depth and warmth of their professional relationship.
