NCIS Season 22 Better Fix This Weird McGee Storyline!

Timothy McGee, portrayed by Sean Murray, is one of the cornerstone characters in the NCIS franchise. As one of the longest-serving members of the team, McGee deserves significant character development. Unfortunately, Season 21 left much to be desired in this regard. With the announcement of NCIS Season 22’s premiere date, fans are eager to see how the series will address the unresolved storyline and offer McGee the development he deserves.

Season 21 wrapped up with a dramatic finale that set the stage for Season 22. Jessica Knight’s surprising decision to accept the position of Chief REACT Training Officer, turning down the role of Special Agent in Charge of the Far East Office, sent shockwaves through the NCIS universe. Meanwhile, Alden Parker, played by Gary Cole, faced a life-threatening situation, almost losing his leg while working on the season’s final case. McGee also had pivotal moments, stepping in as the temporary NCIS director while Leon Vance recovered from a gunshot wound. Despite these significant events, McGee’s character arc felt underdeveloped.

As we look forward to the new season, it’s worth noting that characters from NCIS spin-offs, such as Kensi Blye and Tammy Gregorio, have the potential to fill the void left by Jessica Knight’s departure. Their strong, well-rounded portrayals could offer a new dimension to the series, potentially influencing McGee’s storyline and adding depth to the overarching narrative.
