Vanessa Ray Gets Adoption Support from Law & Order’s Mariska Hargitay’s Husband
Blue Bloods star Vanessa Ray received invaluable support from an unexpected source during her adoption journey. The actress, known for her role as Eddie Janko-Reagan, had a helping hand from Peter Hermann, husband of Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay.
Ray and her husband, Landon Beard, adopted their son, Isaac Ray Beard, in a whirlwind experience late last year. Though Ray and Hermann had not previously worked together, he generously provided guidance based on his own adoption experiences with Hargitay. Hermann and Hargitay adopted their daughter Amaya in April 2011 and their son Andrew later that same year, in addition to their biological son August.
In a recent interview with People, Ray described Hermann’s support as a crucial element in their adoption process. “He really held our hand and walked us through everything we needed to know,” she said. Hermann compared the adoption journey to “a lot of first dates,” acknowledging the emotional ups and downs involved.
Ray’s gratitude towards Hermann highlights the supportive community within Hollywood, where actors and their families often lend each other a helping hand during significant life events.
