NCIS: Origins Star Teases Newcomer’s Shocking Tie to Gibbs and Chilling First Scene!

Fans are gradually learning more about the cast of CBS’s highly-anticipated prequel series, “NCIS: Origins,” centered around a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs. This upcoming series will debut in October, alongside the 22nd season of the flagship “NCIS” show.

“NCIS: Origins” will star Austin Stowell as a young Gibbs, portraying his early years with the Naval Investigative Service (NIS) in the 1990s. He will be joined by Kyle Schmid, who plays seasoned NCIS legend Mike Franks. The cast also includes Mariel Molino as Special Agent Lala Dominguez, a former Marine and Franks’ right-hand agent. Lala is described as the most senior female agent on the team, showcasing her determination to thrive in a male-dominated field. Diany Rodriguez and Tyla Abercrumbie will play Vera Strickland and Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Hayes, respectively, indicating a strong female presence in the series.

Molino has teased that her character has a “dry” and “dark” sense of humor, which is evident in her first scene with Gibbs, featuring a macabre setting. The series promises action-packed drama and an exploration of Gibbs’ early career and development into the character fans know and love.

“NCIS: Origins” premieres on Monday, October 14, on CBS.
