NCIS: Origins’ Unveils Austin Stowell as Young Gibbs – First Look!

The highly anticipated new NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Origins, is set to premiere on CBS on October 18. The series will dive into the early days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, with Austin Stowell taking on the iconic role that Mark Harmon made famous.

In a recent Instagram post from July 13, fans got their first look at Stowell’s transformation into a young Gibbs. “I’m Austin Stowell, I’m playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS: Origins and here we go with our first haircut!” he said in the behind-the-scenes clip, giving viewers a glimpse of his new look.

The response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive. Comments on the post range from excitement about Stowell’s portrayal to enthusiastic comparisons with Harmon’s version of Gibbs. “Telling me I’m crushing on young and old Gibbs now?!” one fan exclaimed, while another commented, “That face he makes at the end is just like Gibbs! I’m excited to see Origins!”

Despite many details about NCIS: Origins still being under wraps, the show promises a fresh perspective on Gibbs’ early career. Mark Harmon, who is also an executive producer for the series, expressed his excitement about Stowell stepping into the role. In an interview with USA Today, Harmon joked about fellow executive producer Gina Lucita Monreal’s reaction, saying, “She may deny it, but she did swoon. And when (Austin) walked out of the room, she said, ‘Now that guy is a star!'”

Fans can look forward to exploring a new chapter of Gibbs’ story when NCIS: Origins debuts this October.
