New NCIS Spin-off Filmed in Budapest: What You Need to Know!

Paramount+ announced last Thursday that production has begun on the highly anticipated European-based spin-off series “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” (NCIS: Europe), starring fan favorites Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo. The 10-episode series is currently filming in Budapest, Hungary.

In this exciting new series, Weatherly and de Pablo reprise their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, respectively. They are joined by Isla Gie, who will play their 12-year-old daughter, Tali. The cast also includes Amita Suman (“Shadow and Bone”) as the technical director of Tony’s security firm, Maximilian Osinski (“Ted Lasso”) as a Russian hacker, Nassima Benchicou (“Emily in Paris”) as a former agent, and James D’Arcy (“Agent Carter”) as a high-ranking Interpol agent.

“NCIS: Tony & Ziva” reunites de Pablo, who left the original series after season 11, and Weatherly, who departed after season 13. In the original series, Tony believed Ziva was dead and left NCIS to raise their daughter. However, Ziva was later revealed to be alive, and now the former NCIS agents are raising their daughter together in Paris.

While the cameras are already rolling in Budapest, the premiere date for the series has not yet been announced.

“NCIS” is an American military police procedural television series and the first installment in the NCIS franchise. The series follows a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), blending elements of military drama, police procedural, and comedy. As of 2022, “NCIS” is the third-longest-running scripted, live-action U.S. prime-time TV series currently airing.
