NCIS Hawaii Fans, Don’t Lose Hope! 9 Cancelled Shows That Made a Comeback!

NCIS: Hawaii was canceled in April 2024 after three seasons, despite having a dedicated fanbase. While cancellations often mean the end, many shows have successfully made a comeback thanks to passionate fan campaigns. Here are some notable examples of shows that returned after being axed.

Community, set in a quirky community college, captured audiences with the antics of its study group: Jeff, Annie, Abed, Troy, Britta, Shirley, and Pierce. After some behind-the-scenes turmoil, including a showrunner change in season four, NBC canceled it before season six. However, Yahoo! Screen stepped in to revive the series, allowing it to complete its six-season arc.

Fans not only received new episodes but also got exciting news: Peacock is producing a feature film starring nearly the entire original cast, including Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong. As Abed Nadir might say, “Six seasons and a movie!”

Similarly, the beloved police comedy set in the 99th precinct faced cancellation by Fox after just five seasons. Fortunately, NBC came to the rescue, leading to three additional seasons before its conclusion in 2021. Fans’ affection for this ragtag group of officers played a significant role in ensuring its legacy.
