Will NCIS Seasons 18-21 Hit Netflix? What About Seasons 1-11!

NCIS on Netflix: What’s the Latest Update?

Netflix has experienced a rollercoaster few months with NCIS, rotating in new seasons while removing older ones. Here’s what we know about the latest developments.

For over a decade, Netflix has been the go-to platform for NCIS, typically adding new seasons annually after their CBS airing. However, this practice stopped in 2018 after Season 15, with no clear explanation. In 2022, it was announced that NCIS would be leaving Netflix in June 2024.

In May 2024, it was revealed that instead of being removed, NCIS would be shuffled. Seasons 1-11 were taken off Netflix and replaced by Seasons 16 and 17 for users in the US. Meanwhile, in early 2024, international Netflix regions received NCIS for the first time, adding Seasons 10-14.

Currently, there are no announced dates for the addition of Seasons 18, 19, 20, or the recent Season 21, but more episodes are expected to arrive soon. NCIS is listed in Netflix’s “Worth the Wait” section, hinting at future updates.

On June 30, 2024, NCIS was renewed for a single-year license, meaning another shuffle could occur by June 30, 2025, putting all seasons at risk of removal. The selective licensing seems aimed at encouraging subscriptions to Paramount+.

While the absence of early seasons is frustrating, Netflix appears unconcerned about not hosting every season of procedural shows. For instance, when Law & Order was added internationally, only select seasons were included. Procedurals like NCIS often allow viewers to jump in at any season without confusion.

For those missing the earlier seasons, Paramount+ offers every episode of NCIS, including weekly drops of new seasons airing on CBS. Are you disappointed that Netflix doesn’t host the early seasons of NCIS? Are you hopeful that Seasons 18-21 will arrive soon? Let us know!
