NCIS Star Sean Murray Reveals Uncertain Future for the Show!

Sean Murray Discusses His Future on NCIS: “No Character is Safe”

Sean Murray, who has portrayed Special Agent Timothy McGee since 2003, recently shared insights about his uncertain future on the long-running CBS series NCIS. Despite his extensive tenure, Murray emphasizes that no character is guaranteed safety on the show.

In a recent interview with People, Murray reflected on his 21 years with NCIS and acknowledged the show’s unpredictability. “I think we learned this with things that have happened on the show over the years… No one is quite safe,” he stated. “Being here for 21 years, I’ve immensely enjoyed being part of this show and remain incredibly grateful, but you never know what’s going to happen.”

Despite the uncertainty, Murray reassured fans that the cast enjoys their time on set and no one is looking to leave. “A really strong bond was formed early on, and the show has developed strengths in a unique way compared to most procedurals,” he explained, highlighting the deep connection fans have with NCIS and its characters.

In other NCIS news, the franchise is set to debut its latest series, NCIS: Origins, which will explore the early days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, originally played by Mark Harmon. Harmon will return as a narrator, while Austin Stowell, Mariel Molino, and Kyle Schmid have been cast as young Gibbs, Lala Dominguez, and a younger version of Mike Franks, respectively.

NCIS airs on CBS in the US, and Seasons 1-20 are available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK. NCIS: Origins is currently in production.
