NCIS Hawai’i Star Lands Surprising New Role Post-Cancellation!

Sharif Atkins, known for his role as Captain Norman ‘Boom Boom’ Gates in NCIS: Hawai’i, has secured his next project following the show’s cancellation. He will star in the upcoming Apple TV+ series titled “Me,” a coming-of-age drama centered around middle-schooler Ben who discovers he has superpowers while navigating a newly blended family.

In “Me,” Atkins portrays Darren Kennedy, a character who becomes pivotal in Ben’s journey of self-discovery and understanding the true implications of his newfound abilities. Ben finds support from his stepsister Max, played by Lucian-River Chauhan, as they unravel the mysteries and tragedies within their community.

Created by Barry L. Levy (known for “Vantage Point”), the 10-episode series is set to premiere on July 12. The ensemble cast includes Abigail Pniowsky, Dilshad Vadsaria, Amanda Reid, Jessy Yates, and Kyle Howard.

“NCIS: Hawai’i” was canceled earlier this year after three seasons, a decision explained by CBS Entertainment’s Amy Reisenbach as part of strategic scheduling decisions aimed at maximizing future opportunities for success.

“Me” will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting July 12.
