JAG Fans Rejoice: Huge News This Summer!

Fans of legal dramas will be thrilled to know that JAG, a long-running crime show that aired from 1995 to 2005, is returning to Prime Video this summer. Starting July 1, all ten seasons will be available for streaming. JAG, which inspired the NCIS franchise and its multiple spin-offs, is set to delight both old and new fans alike.

According to TV Line, JAG, the predecessor to the award-winning police procedural franchise NCIS, will be available to stream in its entirety on Prime Video, just in time for Independence Day. Created by Donald P. Bellisario for CBS Studios (formerly Paramount Network Television), JAG originally premiered on NBC for one season from September 1995 to May 1996 before moving to CBS for the remaining nine seasons, from January 1997 to April 2005.

Often described as a blend of Top Gun and A Few Good Men, the series comprises 227 episodes and has been seen in numerous countries worldwide. JAG’s legacy didn’t end with its conclusion nearly two decades ago; it paved the way for the NCIS franchise, which has since produced several spin-offs, including NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawaiʻi, NCIS: Sydney, and the upcoming NCIS: Origins.
