CBS’s Latest Post Sparks Hope for NCIS: Hawai’i Revival!

This time, the network’s promo might be their biggest mistake to date.

It’s been a while since CBS officially canceled NCIS: Hawai’i earlier this year. However, a recent post on one of the network’s social media accounts has reignited the emotions of the series’ fans, leaving them either hopeful for the spinoff’s return or outraged by CBS’ audacity.

Unfortunately, the latter seems more likely in this case.

A few days ago, the managers of NCIS’ official Instagram account, ncisverse, attempted to wish their followers a happy summer solstice. However, their post, which included several pictures from the NCIS shows’ production set—some featuring NCIS: Hawai’i characters—quickly garnered attention for all the wrong reasons.

Many fans were vocal about CBS’ apparent indifference to their feelings. They were upset that the post seemed to pretend that NCIS: Hawai’i was still part of the lineup, even though the show has no chance of returning. While some fans claimed that the network’s executives “woke up and chose violence,” others revived a previously forgotten petition urging CBS to bring back NCIS: Hawai’i.

Why Was NCIS: Hawai’i Canceled?

CBS canceled the show back in April, leaving many fans heartbroken and outraged. This prompted a campaign on social media calling out the network for planning to introduce new (and likely less successful) shows at the expense of a beloved series. Despite the proactive efforts of fans, the campaign saw little progress. Adding to the frustration, NCIS: Hawai’i ended on a major cliffhanger, which now seems unlikely ever to be resolved.

The reason behind the NCIS account managers’ seemingly cruel post remains unclear. However, this latest misstep by the network has undoubtedly sparked another round of fan outrage that CBS will have to contend with for some time.
