CBS and Paramount+ have officially renewed ‘NCIS: Sydney’ for a second season following its successful premiere last November. Starring Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, the series centers around a joint task force with the Australian Federal Police investigating cases involving Americans abroad.
Created by Morgan O’Neill, the show features Todd Lasance and Tuuli Narkle as AFP agents JD Dempsey and Evie Cooper, alongside Mavournee Hazel as AFP forensic scientist Blue Gleeson. ‘NCIS: Sydney’ quickly became a critical and streaming sensation, ranking as CBS’s top new series last fall with over 8 million viewers per episode across various platforms.
O’Neill expressed enthusiasm for exploring deeper character arcs in the upcoming season, promising thrilling action and new challenges for the team in the face of looming threats.
The series is part of an expanding NCIS franchise, with plans for additional spin-offs and companion shows, including a prequel featuring Mark Harmon’s Gibbs and a highly anticipated reunion of fan-favorite characters Ziva and DiNozzo.
‘NCIS: Sydney’ airs on CBS in the US and streams globally on Paramount+.
