Ducky’s Funeral Episode Sparks Shocking Rumors!

Mark Harmon is set to reprise his role in NCIS: Origins, exploring his character’s early years within the organization. However, fans may see Harmon return as Gibbs sooner in NCIS Season 21, particularly for an episode dedicated to bidding farewell to David McCallum’s character, Ducky Mallard.

Following McCallum’s passing, the CBS procedural plans to honor the beloved medical examiner-turned-historian with a dedicated storyline. The episode will revolve around the team solving a case Ducky was working on before his demise. Given Gibbs’ longstanding friendship with Ducky pre-dating the series, it’s only fitting for him to attend the planned funeral.

Fortunately, NCIS Season 21 won’t need to heavily feature Harmon’s return, given his integral role in the franchise’s history. Instead, Gibbs can respectfully pay his respects at Ducky’s funeral without much fanfare. His focus will be on honoring his old friend and bidding him a fitting farewell.

There’s no need for Gibbs to interact extensively with other characters, including Tim McGee, despite their long-standing professional relationship. Gibbs’ primary role in this episode is to pay homage to Ducky and commemorate their enduring friendship.
