Last week, Hollywood was shocked by the tragic news of 37-year-old actor Johnny Wactor’s death in downtown Los Angeles. Wactor, known for his roles in General Hospital and NCIS, was fatally shot while attempting to protect his friend Anita Joy during an attempted car theft at 3am on Saturday, May 25.
Wactor’s career included notable appearances in shows such as General Hospital, Criminal Minds, Siberia, and The Hollywood Girl. In NCIS, he appeared in 2019, portraying Navy Lieutenant Ross Johnson in season 16, episode 12 titled “The Last Link.” His character faced a hit orchestrated by drug dealer Michael Deegan, prompting NCIS to stage Johnson’s death to capture Deegan. Despite their efforts, Deegan proved elusive, denying any involvement and continuing to evade justice.
In the wake of Wactor’s passing, Anita Joy, who was with him during the incident, shared heartfelt memories of her brave friend. She described Wactor as someone who had a special gift for making everyone feel valued and cared for, leaving a lasting impression with his big blue eyes and infectious grin.
NCIS, where Wactor showcased his talent, remains available for viewing on CBS and Disney+.
