NCIS stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are reuniting for a new project ahead of their upcoming spin-off show. Announced in February, the actors, who portray Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, will team up for an NCIS spin-off set in Europe, scheduled to begin filming in Budapest later this year.
Before reprising their roles, Weatherly and de Pablo will launch a Spotify video podcast on June 4 titled Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch. The duo will invite special guests each week to reminisce about iconic NCIS episodes and share behind-the-scenes moments.
Confirmed guest stars include Sean Murray (Special Agent Tim McGee), Brian Dietzen (Dr. Jimmy Palmer), Sasha Alexander (Special Agent Caitlin Todd), Jon Cryer (Dr. Cyril Taft from NCIS season 13), Eric Christian Olsen, and Daniela Ruah (NCIS: Los Angeles’ Marty Deeks and Special Agent Kensi Blye), among others.
The spin-off series will follow Tony, Ziva, and their daughter Tali as they go on the run across Europe after Tony’s security firm is attacked. The couple must learn to trust each other again to “finally have their unconventional happily ever after” while figuring out who was responsible for the attack.
Weatherly and de Pablo will also executive produce the series alongside Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, and Shelley Meals, with John McNamara serving as the showrunner.
NCIS airs on CBS in the US, and seasons 1-20 are available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
