Michael Weatherly, star of NCIS, has unveiled the title of his upcoming spin-off with Cote de Pablo. Earlier this year, it was announced that the duo, known for their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, would headline a 10-episode series set in Europe. During a recent Zoom session on May 7, they disclosed the highly anticipated title, “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” which was later confirmed on the official Paramount+ Instagram account.
De Pablo highlighted the simplicity of the title, stating, “It makes it really easy because the fans will know exactly what the show is. It’s about Tony and Ziva in Europe.” The series will follow Tony, Ziva, and their daughter Tali as they navigate through Europe while on the run after Tony’s security firm is attacked. Along the way, they must rebuild their trust while uncovering the identity of their assailants.
The characters of Tony and Ziva were last seen reuniting in Paris during NCIS’s 17th season. Ziva’s return in season 16 surprised fans, as her character was previously believed to have been killed off following de Pablo’s departure in 2013.
Both Weatherly and de Pablo will also serve as executive producers for the series, with John McNamara taking on the role of showrunner. McNamara expressed excitement about shooting in Europe, teasing the title of the series without giving it away entirely.
The announcement was met with gratitude towards fans who have supported the “TIVA” movement over the years. Weatherly and de Pablo thanked them for their continued dedication, acknowledging the impact of Tony and Ziva’s characters on viewers worldwide.
“NCIS: Tony & Ziva” promises to deliver an action-packed narrative filled with love, danger, and intrigue, catering to the devoted fanbase that has followed the characters’ journey over the years.
