Exclusive: CBS Drops Bombshell Announcement About the Fate of NCIS: Hawai’i! Fans, Prepare to Be Shocked!

CBS has finally reached a decision regarding the fate of NCIS: Hawai’i, and unfortunately, it’s not the news fans were hoping for. The network has opted to cancel the series, making it the only one among the current NCIS lineup to not receive a renewal.

According to TVLine, NCIS: Hawai’i will conclude with its ongoing third season, with no plans for a fourth season. While some shows find new homes on streaming platforms after cancellation, there’s no indication that NCIS: Hawai’i will make such a transition to Paramount+ at this time. This announcement precedes the Season 3 finale on May 6, which will likely serve as the series finale.

The cancellation makes NCIS: Hawai’i the shortest-lived installment in the franchise thus far. NCIS: New Orleans enjoyed a seven-season run from 2013 to 2017, while NCIS: Los Angeles lasted for an impressive 14 seasons between 2008 and 2023. Meanwhile, with their renewals, the flagship NCIS will enter its 22nd season, and NCIS: Sydney will return for a second season.

Despite the setback, the NCIS universe continues to expand with more spinoffs in development. Paramount+ is already working on a spinoff featuring Michael Weatherly’s Tony DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David. Additionally, CBS has announced NCIS: Origins, a prequel starring Austin Stowell as a younger Leroy Jethro Gibbs, set for the 2024-25 season, with Mark Harmon executive producing and narrating.

NCIS: Hawai’i, created by Christopher Silber, Jan Nash, and Matt Bosack, centered around NCIS agents based at the Pearl Harbor Field Office, led by Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant, portrayed by Vanessa Lachey.

While NCIS: Hawai’i may be ending, fans can still catch the series streaming on Paramount+.
