NCIS: Origins Cast Grows – Exciting New Additions Revealed!

The NCIS prequel, titled NCIS: Origins, has recently announced three new additions to its cast. According to TVLine, Robert Taylor, Daniel Bellomy, and Caleb Martin Foote have joined the upcoming series, which is set to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season. They join previously announced cast members Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, Austin Stowell, and Mariel Molino.

Robert Taylor, known for his role in Longmire, will portray Jackson Gibbs, the father of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, in a recurring role. Daniel Bellomy, recognized for his work in Power Book II: Ghost, will appear as Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, a recurring guest star character described as an ambitious probie eager to advance within the agency. Caleb Martin Foote will play Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf, a recurring guest star who is tasked with mentoring newly minted Agent Gibbs while juggling the responsibilities of being a parent to twins.

NCIS: Origins serves as a prequel to the original NCIS series, focusing on the early career of Leroy Jethro Gibbs in 1991. Mark Harmon will narrate the series, which follows Gibbs as he begins his journey as a special agent at the NCIS Camp Pendleton office, under the leadership of NCIS legend Mike Franks.

The pilot episode of NCIS: Origins was co-written by David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal, both of whom have extensive experience writing for NCIS. They will also serve as executive producers and co-showrunners for the prequel series.

CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach expressed excitement about expanding the NCIS universe with NCIS: Origins, highlighting Mark Harmon’s return and the exploration of Gibbs’ backstory. David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, praised the decision to delve into Gibbs’ early years and applauded the expertise of co-showrunners Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North.

In addition to NCIS: Origins, another NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Sydney, has been renewed for a second season. The series, which marks the first international version of NCIS, has garnered popularity both in Australia and the United States, prompting its return for another installment. Executive producer and showrunner Morgan O’Neill expressed excitement about diving deeper into the lives of the core team members in the upcoming season.
